Trekk to gorakhgad

Hi to all the viewers i would love to share my experience of trekking with you all
I have trekked more than 10 mountains in Maharashtra till now
And i am gonna discuss about one of the mountain which is in my favourites list.
Gorakhgad fort : one of the best trekk with the best experience.
The height of Gorakhgad fort is 649m (2130 feet) surrounded with nature and wild monkies.
Difficulty level : Medium ( a little harder while getting on the peak)
Below the peak there is a cave where you can stay if you are planning for a night stay.
You must carry lights, torches and some woods for the fire.
Carry some dehydrated foods, snacks and more than 4 litres of water.
There is a small temple of hanuman and shivling at the peak of gorakhgad fort.
It takes 2 to 3 hours to reach till the cave. Beside the cave there is a small pond filled with natural rain water which you can use to boil it to make dehydrated food.
Beware of monkies because they are hungry and wild as well.
If you leave your bag infront of them then forget you had a bag they’ll open it up and will take everything inside it and they will take all the food inside the bag. Make sure you go with a group consists of 6-7 person or more.

Difficulties while trekking towards the peak

While starting your trekk make sure your bag is zipped properly and you have more than 4 litres of water per person.
Start walking on the stairs upward after, the time when stairs are over there is a lean way from the grass towards the mountain. Till the mountain you will get to see a beautiful view of other mountains and a glance of nature. After 1 and half hours you will reach to the base from where you will have to start climbing
It’s a little difficult climb as it doesn’t have much grip. After a little climb you will reach to a small gate where you’ll see stairs the stairs will end within 5-6 mins. Just after 2-3 mins walk upwards you will be able to see the cave and a beautiful view from the cave. But you haven’t reached to the peak yet because peak is above the cave and way too difficult at the evening time because it’s all climbing upwards with less grips and small steps. So you can rest and spend the rest of time and the night in the cave. have food or make food and enjoy the beautiful view, click pictures for the memory, fire up to boil water and turn on the lights / torches when it is dark. Open up your tents inside the cave to keep your bags inside Because monkies might steal your stuffs.
Wake up before sunrise to watch the beautiful sunrise because the cave faces the east side. Click pictures take videos or timelapse of the sunrise. Then after sunrise get freshen up, eat something, get hydrated and get ready to climb the toughest part. Remember there will be less grips and more risk if you are strong enough and you have set your mind to do it you will do it but it’s a risk for the weak hearted. Walk till you see small steep stairs going upwards but before the stairs there is climbing part of 5-6 minutes and don’t think if you have stairs you are a winner NO the stairs have less grip and they are very small like one step one foot another foot to the next step. And don’t look down while climbing up because you’ll see 2200ft trench below you and you will feel the chasing winds.
It may take upto 45 minutes to reach up at the peak. Once you are at the peak you will see the most beautiful view of nature and the winds are blowing your hair and waving your heart. And there is a small temple of hanuman and shivling if you are beliver and you have beliefe in god then you can praise there while going back to base.. make yourself rest there for a while take a glance of nature and feel the wind passing through you click pictures eat snacks but donot throw the wastes or disposals on the mountain its tge sign of violation of nature i strongly believe.
start getting down. Getting down is very difficult because of the stairs climbing up wasn’t that stress as getting down is. So take care and take all the precautions and make sure you are not wearing grip less shoes. And beware of monkies they are thieves with no feelings as they are hungry.
After getting down to the base wait fir the bus or else take sharing cab to reach back at the kalyan station and find the train as per your destination.

Thank you for reading this hope you liked it and if you are planning to trekk somewhere take precautions and enough of water and food to survive a night.
